PLEASE NOTE: This position requires applicants to hold a recognised teaching qualification (Level 3 or above). Unfortunately, candidates without a teaching qualification cannot be considered for this role.

Bolton Talent Solutions, in partnership with Bolton College, is seeking an enthusiastic, qualified and industry-experienced Catering & Hospitality Lecturer to join a busy, dynamic and growing department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified lecturer who combines industry expertise with a passion for teaching and learner development. You will play a key role in preparing the next generation of hospitality professionals for successful careers within Professional Cookery, Hospitality, Food Service and Patisserie.

With an ongoing assignment anticipated to continue through to July 2027, this position offers excellent stability, consistent hours and the opportunity to apply for permanent roles should they become available.

About the Role

As a Catering & Hospitality Lecturer, you will deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and learning across Catering, Hospitality and Patisserie programmes.

You will support learners to develop industry-standard practical skills alongside essential theoretical knowledge and professional behaviours, preparing them for employment, apprenticeships or further study.

This role offers a varied workload, combining practical workshop delivery with classroom-based teaching in a vibrant Further Education environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across Catering, Hospitality and Patisserie programmes from Level 1 to Level 3
  • Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
  • Develop learners' technical skills, knowledge and professional behaviours
  • Demonstrate current industry standards in food preparation, cookery, bakery, pastry and customer service
  • Assess learner work and provide constructive feedback to support achievement and progression
  • Track learner attendance, progress and attainment
  • Maintain accurate learner records and required documentation
  • Support learners to achieve their qualifications and career goals
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, equality and food hygiene requirements
  • Create an inclusive and inspiring learning environment where learners can thrive

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory Requirements

  • Recognised Teaching Qualification (Level 3 or above) - ESSENTIAL
  • Previous teaching, lecturing, assessing or training experience
  • Level 3 qualification (or above) in Catering, Hospitality, Professional Cookery, Bakery, Patisserie or a related discipline
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification
  • Recent and relevant industry experience within Catering, Hospitality, Professional Cookery, Bakery or Patisserie

  • The ability to inspire, motivate and support learners from a range of backgrounds
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one
