Early Years Work Based Tutor

About the Role

Bolton Talent Solutions and Bolton College are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and learner-focused Early Years Work Based Tutor to join the team on a temporary basis.

Working closely with learners in their workplace settings, you will provide high-quality assessment, coaching, and support to help them successfully achieve their Early Years qualifications and develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed for rewarding careers within the sector.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to learner progression while working within a supportive and professional Further Education environment.

Contract Information

This role is being offered on a temporary basis and will remain in place until a permanent candidate is appointed by Bolton College. Whilst the current expectation is that the assignment will run through to 16th December 2026, the position may end sooner or continue longer depending on the College's permanent recruitment process.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support, assess and review learners undertaking Early Years qualifications in workplace settings
  • Conduct workplace visits, observations, progress reviews and assessments
  • Deliver high-quality coaching, mentoring and developmental feedback
  • Monitor learner progress and achievement against qualification requirements
  • Maintain accurate learner records in line with awarding body and College requirements
  • Support learners to achieve timely success and progression

Essential Requirements

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Early Years, Childcare or a related discipline
  • Recognised Assessor Qualification

Experience

  • Experience assessing, mentoring or supporting learners in workplace settings
  • Strong understanding of Early Years practice and industry standards
  • Excellent communication, organisational and learner support skills

Mandatory Requirement

Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service is ESSENTIAL and must be in place before starting.
