Bolton Talent Solutions is proud to be recruiting a Hairdressing & Barbering Lecturer on behalf of Bolton College.

We are seeking a flexible and experienced Hairdressing and Barbering professional to support the curriculum team on a temporary basis. This opportunity is ideal for someone looking for part-time work across the latter part of the week whilst making a positive impact on learners preparing for careers in the Hair and Barbering industry.

Position Details

Job Title: Hairdressing & Barbering Lecturer
Location: Bolton College
Contract: Temporary until December 2026 (potential extension available)
Pay Rate: £27.71 - £32.00 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Hours: Part-time, flexible

Working Pattern

We are particularly interested in candidates who are available to work on:

  • Wednesday
  • Thursday
  • Friday

Hours can be discussed and agreed based on curriculum requirements and candidate availability.

About the Role

As a Hairdressing & Barbering Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and practical learning experiences to students studying Hairdressing and Barbering qualifications.

You will help learners develop industry-standard skills, underpinning knowledge and professional behaviours, empowering them to achieve their qualifications and progress into employment or further study.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Hairdressing and Barbering lessons.
  • Plan, prepare and assess learning activities and coursework.
  • Support learners to achieve their individual goals and targets.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate learner records.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment.
  • Promote high standards of professional practice and learner engagement.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 Hairdressing qualification.
  • Relevant and recent Hairdressing industry experience.
  • Teaching qualification or previous teaching/training experience.
  • Strong practical and technical Hairdressing skills.

Desirable Requirements

  • Level 2 Barbering qualification.
  • Previous Further Education teaching experience.
  • Experience delivering vocational Hairdressing and Barbering programmes.
  • Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurance qualifications.
