Position Overview

Bolton Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Work Based Tutor to join Bolton College on a temporary basis.

This role is initially to provide 4 weeks' cover, with the possibility of extension depending on business needs. The successful candidate will support apprenticeship learners through regular reviews and employer meetings, ensuring compliance, learner progress and timely achievement.

Subject-specific teaching and delivery will be undertaken by the curriculum team, allowing you to focus on learner reviews, work-based learning, employer engagement and quality assurance. There may also be opportunities to provide cover and support across other curriculum areas within the College as required.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct timely and effective reviews with apprenticeship learners
Support learners to achieve their apprenticeship goals through coaching and guidance
Liaise with employers to monitor learner progress and maintain positive relationships
Ensure all learner documentation is accurate, compliant and funding-audit ready
Monitor learner attendance, progress and achievement
Work closely with curriculum teams to ensure learners receive appropriate support
Provide cover and support across other curriculum areas within the College as required
Maintain high standards of compliance in line with ESFA and College requirements

Essential Requirements

Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, CAVA or equivalent)
Previous experience supporting apprenticeship learners in a Work Based Tutor, Assessor or Apprenticeship Coach role
Strong understanding of apprenticeship frameworks and standards
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work independently
Strong employer engagement and relationship management skills

Desirable

Experience within a Further Education College environment
Knowledge of Business apprenticeship standards
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
