This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Hairdressing and Barbering professional with teaching experience to join a supportive Further Education environment and help learners develop the skills and confidence needed for a successful career in the industry.

Position Details

Job Title: Hair & Barbering Lecturer
Location: Bolton College
Contract: Temporary until 16 December 2026 (with the potential to be extended)
Pay Rate: £27.71 - £32.00 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Available Working Patterns

Role A

• Monday: 1:00pm - 5:00pm
• Tuesday: 4:30pm - 8:30pm
• Wednesday: 10:30am - 11:30am and 3:30pm - 6:00pm
• Thursday: 1:00pm - 3:00pm and 4:00pm - 9:00pm
• Friday: 9:30am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Role B

• Monday: 1:00pm - 5:00pm
• Tuesday: 1:00pm - 3:00pm and 4:00pm - 7:30pm
• Wednesday: 9:00am - 12:30pm, 1:00pm - 2:30pm and 3:30pm - 5:00pm
• Thursday: 1:00pm - 4:00pm
• Friday: 10:30am - 12:30pm and 1:00pm - 3:00pm

About the Role

As a Hair & Barbering Lecturer, you will deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences across Hairdressing and Barbering programmes. You will support learners in developing both practical and theoretical knowledge, enabling them to achieve their qualifications and progress confidently into employment or further study.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver inspiring and effective teaching sessions.
• Plan, prepare and assess learning activities and coursework.
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate learner records and documentation.
• Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Motivate and support learners to achieve their full potential.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Level 3 Teaching Qualification (or equivalent).
• Level 3 Hairdressing Qualification.
• Relevant and recent industry experience within Hairdressing.

Desirable Requirements

• Level 2 Barbering Qualification.
• Previous experience teaching within a Further Education setting.
• Experience delivering Hairdressing and Barbering qualifications.
