Additional Learning Support Assistant (ALSA) Bolton College Contract: Temporary On Going to Student Requirements Hours: Variable, Monday to Friday (some evening work) Pay: £12.95 per hour + holiday pay Start: ASAP About the Role Bolton Talent Solutions is recruiting Additional Learning Support Assistants (ALSAs) to support learners across Bolton College. You will work with young people and adults with SEND, EHCPs, learning difficulties, disabilities, and other barriers to learning. Your role is to help learners engage, achieve, and develop independence within a safe and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities Support learners in class, workshops, and college activities Promote independence, confidence, and self-advocacy Assist learners to engage with learning without completing work for them Work closely with tutors and support teams Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality Follow safeguarding procedures and college policies at all times Essential Requirements GCSE English and Maths Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) Experience supporting learners, young people, or adults with additional needs Understanding of SEND, inclusion, and safeguarding Strong communication skills and a professional approach Commitment to promoting learner independence and maintaining professional boundaries Willingness to complete mandatory training and work to ALSA Professional Standards Desirable Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning, Education, Health & Social Care, SEND or a related subject Previous experience within Further Education, schools, or learner support services Please Note This role is subject to: Enhanced DBS clearance (or DBS Update Service registration) If you are passionate about supporting learners to achieve their potential and can demonstrate the professionalism expected of an ALSA, we'd love to hear from you.
