Health & Social Care Lecturer

Location: Bolton College
Contract: Temporary from September 2026 (Subject to timetable confirmation)
Hours: Flexible teaching hours available, expected minimum of 8 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026 (subject to curriculum timetable confirmation)
Pay Rate: £30.00 - £32.00 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

About the Opportunity

Bolton Talent Solutions, in partnership with Bolton College, is looking to build a talent pipeline of enthusiastic and knowledgeable Health & Social Care Lecturers to support the delivery of Level 3 Health & Social Care programmes for the 2026/27 academic year.

Whilst teaching hours have not yet been confirmed, opportunities are expected to become available once the September timetable is finalised. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Health & Social Care professionals looking to transition into teaching, as well as qualified lecturers seeking to develop their experience within Further Education.

Successful candidates will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons to Level 3 Health & Social Care students, supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and progress to higher education, apprenticeships, or employment within the health and care sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Level 3 Health & Social Care learners
  • Prepare students for assessments, assignments, and qualification achievement
  • Monitor learner progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Support students in achieving their academic and career goals
  • Create an inclusive, positive and supportive learning environment
  • Contribute to learner support, safeguarding, and wellbeing
  • Complete associated administrative, assessment, and curriculum duties
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to ensure high-quality delivery

Requirements

  • Teaching qualification (AET, PTLLS, Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one
  • Relevant Health & Social Care qualification at Level 3 or above
  • Industry experience within the Health & Social Care sector
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Previous teaching experience within Further Education is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of Level 3 Health & Social Care qualifications and curriculum delivery would be advantageous
  • A passion for developing learners and supporting progression opportunities
