Role: Roofing Teacher
Location: Bolton College, Deane Road Campus
Hours: 2 days per week (flexible, but must be consistent)
Term: Temporary – until Thursday 19th December 2025

Pay Rates:

• £26.71 to £28.75 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Rate dependent on experience and qualifications

Position Overview:

We’re seeking a dedicated Roofing professional to deliver training to apprentices in their first and second year of the Level 2 Roofer (RST) Apprenticeship Standard. You'll teach across two consistent days per week (flexible to agree), working closely with learners who are gaining on-the-job experience and building their practical skills through college-based training. The focus is on tiling and slating, so hands-on expertise in these methods is essential. You’ll play a vital role in developing learners’ confidence, technical abilities, and understanding of health and safety standards in roofing.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver structured and engaging training in tiling and slating, aligned to the Level 2 Roofing Standard (RST)
• Guide learners through practical tasks and theory linked to industry practice
• Monitor apprentice progress and support portfolio development in collaboration with employers and assessors
• Uphold high standards of workshop safety and learner conduct

 

Key Requirements:

• A minimum Level 3 qualification in Roofing
• Extensive industry experience in tiling and slating
• Familiarity with or willingness to work within the Level 2 Roofer (RST) Apprenticeship Standard
• Experience delivering training or supporting apprentices is desirable
